Correct. Sorry for assuming what appeared to be obvious. LOL!
No worries. 'US to Canada' doesnt always mean US citizen to Canada. Anyways, not to digress from the main point, I am in the same boat as others who are stuck in the 'card production error'. Was hoping for some positive outlook from others who are in the same stressful situation. Thanks for your guidance, experienced member. I am just a newbie trying to learn from the experienced folks here.

Hello,
My spouse landed in Canada on May 16th. He linked the application to GCKey on May 26th. He received an email on July 17th saying he needed to submit new photos and attach the letter and send it to Sydney, NS. It's been 6 months since landing and there isn't any updates in gckey. It still says application ''submitted''. If he tries to login into the Client Application Status, it shows he has no application in progess. He tried calling the call centre and the agent said she had no information and it said in progress. Do he have to reapply since it's been 180 days since landing?

Hi,
How did you know that they received your application? Just by seeing the tracking information of post/courier?
Also what is DM that you got on Nov 3?
Thanks.
It only [potentially] screws travel plans if the PR doesn't follow the rules regarding PR Card renewal. Crossing at a land POE, for example, with an expired card is usually not an issue (unless the PR has not met the R.O.) and is in a private vehicle or on foot.
The valid PR Card is needed to travel to Canada via a commercial carrier, but is NOT required to enter Canada (CBSA inspection point).
What if someone needs to travel in an emergency? Once you apply for the PR card renewal, even if it takes the average 90 days to get it renewed, people won't be able to travel outside Canada in an emergency. The folks who are dealing with the "printing issue" are having to wait longer, what if they have to travel in an emergency? All this is unnecessary stress.
Not all have valid US visa to come into Canada by land in a private vehicle.

A lot of people have been stuck in the 'card production error' stage, including myself. Has anyone received their PR card yet since then?
Looks like only some of the folks are having this card production error. I know someone who applied on Sep 5 and got the card renewed in about 50 days.

They will send you an acknowledgement email saying that they received your application and that they have begun processing it. For me, it took nearly 2 months for them to send the email.
Did you have a lot of travel history? Average seems to be around a month or lesser to get AOR email after them receiving the application. I am wondering why it took 2 months for you.

I took the PR card photos at Shoppers. Did anyone else do that? I hope they have the right specs for it.

Applied for Renewal of PR card on Sep 27, 2022. Haven't received a single email. I applied online. PR Portal still shows submitted. Any thoughts if I should call them what is the contact no. or if I send paper application now what can happen?
