Saw Sean Fraser talk about targeted draws in FSWP to try to help areas with labour shortages. There is a good chance that software engineers may be included. There are already programs that target tech workers, faster processing for WP for most jobs in software engineering, PNP often includes software engineers as professions in demand, etc. so you do have options now.
