I sometimes wish I had the gall of these people/companies who charge so much money to give such bad advice that directly contradict information clearly stated on the IRCC website. Most people on this forum will tell you to do the applications and research yourself. Requirements and document checklists are on the IRCC website. It may take more time but you save money, you know what you are submitting and signing, and your documentation is correct. For study permits, what a lot of people don't know is that agents receive "kick-backs" from colleges for getting a student to apply to that school.

I had the displeasure of attending a “Study in Canada” event arranged by an unscrupulous agent in my country. Only one college gave a talk I got several calls and emails from their local representative for weeks after the event encouraging me to apply to their college because I was supposedly a good fit After that experience, I knew we had to do it on our own.
