Hi guys, I called IRCC recently. An agent told me that criminality is in progress and security not started. Rest all are passed ( medical, eligibility and info Sharing ). She said that my file is moving as she can see some recent notes made by officer. I asked her if there is any deadline? She said not a deadline but a note on file that they have to give result by mid January.

Sounds pretty standard comparing to many timelines on this forum. Not much explanation to provide except to say that if we go by a very approximate 6 months from AOR, you could get PR before the end of October. That note about a response by mid-January would appear to be a deadline even though the call centre agent didn’t call it that.

@legalfalcon please I need your help. I've got very very toxic inlaws, sincerely can't start typing all the maltreatment on the Internet. As a matter of fact, I relocated because of them. These guys come to our house unannounced every other day. They just want to be in ur business and broadcast how you do not regard them as inlaws.
Now, my husband’s four sisters want to come here via study and express entry. And trust me their plan is to come frustrate our home, they want to continue from where they stopped before we relocated. They hade several snide comments like my hubby and I cant have peace so long dey are still single.
My mil once said to her sister on phone that she hates d kids n she feels like poisoning them. After I had my CS to give birth to my twin girls, she went about saying I maltreated her, starved her. If i was her daughter will she expect me to start cooking 5days post partum with a very low pcv and sour stitches. She left angry in 2018 and never slept over in our house again. But since we stepped our foot in Canada she keeps saying she cant wait to come.
I have discussed with my spouse but he obviously will pick his family over me in the name of emotional intelligence or diplomacy , even if I'm dying he believes i should endure toxic situations hence, I need to find a solution myself. Please do i write to ircc, or do i call. I do not want any form of toxic ambience around my kids and I.
They can look to other countries why canada and why is it the moment we left. Please help me before i loose it completely. I am loosing my mind and mentally down at the thought of them saying they are coming. I was a mess before we relocated. I need to be in soundmind to care for my kids.
I need all the help I can get please. If they step on the canada soil. That's the end of my home.

TR2PR-IG
Hi all, I just received an update for my TR2PR application. And they are asking "A separate and newly completed Schedule A Background Declaration (IMM 5669) form bearing an original signature with updated personal, address and travel history since the age of 18 with no gaps in addresses or activities."
Clearly I only filled only 5 rows provided in the document but I have to prepare an extra Word document to support full 10 years I believe.
QUESTIONS:
1- Is this format okay for "dates, no gaps"? 2020-07 - 2020-12
2020-01 - 2020-06
or it has to be exact same month 2020-06 2020-06 or 2020-07 2020-07?
2- I'm already providing which city/country I am at under Personal Information in Schedule A, do I have to also mention 2-3 weeks of family visits/travels in Schedule A? I already had provided them in the travel background.
3- I went on vacation and came back right before my TRV+Work Permit ended. (So I am still maintained status)
Do I actually have to inform anything about this to an officer?
4- My marital status changed from single to common-law in the meantime, after informing CIC, they are asking for more information through GCKey portal. "If your spouse or common-law partner (CLP) is a Canadian citizen or if they have obtained permanent residence status in Canada, you are required to send us a proof of their status (birth certificate, Permanent Resident Card, etc.)."
"If your spouse or CLP is NOT a Canadian citizen or has NOT obtained permanent residence status in Canada, you will need to complete each of the following steps in order to have them added to your existing application and examined for compliance with admissibility requirements (medical, criminality and security). Unless otherwise stated, the following is mandatory whether or not your spouse or CLP decides to accompany you to Canada."
My common law partner is Canadian Citizen/Canada born, in this case is it safe for me to only upload documents like birth certificate, passport, drivers license etc as she is not necessarily accompanying me?
I need to upload Schedule A by Tuesday 09/27 so I really would appreciate the info you may have available for this. Thank you.
1- Is this format okay for "dates, no gaps"? I used the exact same month in my form (2020-06 2020-06 or 2020-07 2020-07) but I think both are fine.
2- I'm already providing which city/country I am at under Personal Information in Schedule A, do I have to also mention 2-3 weeks of family visits/travels in Schedule A? I already had provided them in the travel background. Yes, all travels must be mentioned in personal history as well.
3- I went on vacation and came back right before my TRV+Work Permit ended. (So I am still maintained status) Do I actually have to inform anything about this to an officer? No, if your WP is expired, they will have it on file. You do not need to mention your current status separately. However, on the personal history question, when you want to mention your activities after your WP is expired, write maintained status in the status column.
4- My marital status changed from single to common-law in the meantime, after informing CIC, they are asking for more information through GCKey portal. This is normal, they did the same thing for me, too.
5- My common law partner is Canadian Citizen/Canada born, in this case is it safe for me to only upload documents like birth certificate, passport, drivers license etc as she is not necessarily accompanying me? yes, upload the birth certificate, Canadian passport, and driver's licence. You can also make a letter and combine it with the documents as one PDF. In the letter, explain your partner's status and any other information that can help the officer regarding your imm5669.
If you are out of status, then you have to apply for restoration. At the same time, apply (not for OWP extension, but) for Tr to Pr based WP. Google the procedure and the requirements for it. You first have to get your status restored. I think you can do both, but since this is a slippery slope you should consult an immigration lawyer. Those whose paperwork is in order, should get a temporary WP (from tr to pr) after application, as their actual application is being processed, unless they filed it wrong or dont meet the requirements. You shouldn't be staying in Canada with an invalid status. So first apply for resotoration of status, and the WP based on Tr to Pr.
I applied for and extension 4 months before my work permit expired. I applied in February and my permit expired in June. I didn’t just wait for my work permit to expired before submitting an application for extension. So I don’t understand why I should be applying for restoration of status.

I don't think Joy has an 'invalid' status and that she has the right to stay in Canada under legally 'maintained' status as she awaits the processing of her application in process. But perhaps I'm missing a key detail? If I'm reading her details correctly, she has applied for an extension to her work permit long before the current one expired, which should put her into 'maintained' status while she waits for her application to be processed. Her last valid status allowed her to work so under 'maintained' status she would still be able to work (but unfortunately travel re-entry & provincial healthcare are lost). In the meantime, she also has a TR to PR application in process, which (if she had valid status at the time of submission) also allows her to stay in Canada until it's processed. Anyone with anything to add on the matter of her current status?
Regardless, I agree that she should be following up with her MP on her existing applications with some urgency, and also applying for the OWP under the TR to PR Pathway for good measure.

Thank you so much for this. I got on a call with a lawyer, and he said that you only need to mention travels if you are not working or studying at all. I had a visit when I was still a student so I skipped that, but I will mention where I wasn't working and went on a travel.

Oh, my! This is a sad situation but not one IRCC can resolve for you, and one that I suspect many readers of this forum will have a hard time answering because of the unpredictable nature of family dynamics. However, IRCC can’t keep your in-laws out of Canada on your behalf, if they qualify & are accepted.
Although I’m hesitant to do so, I’ll also offer some food-for-thought regarding your in-laws—there’s a lot to unpack in your post but unfortunately it is for you and your husband to resolve … together. The issue is communication and agreement between you & your husband … and then your inlaws. Perhaps it’s cultural but changing the dynamics will have to start with you, and depends on you and your husband being in agreement.
Do they have to live with you? If there are 4 sisters, can they consider renting a place together to keep expenses down? However, if both of you are going to allow his in-laws to live with you, both of you need to be prepared to set ground rules for them (& how to enforce them) that are acceptable to both of you.
You may find that you have the upper hand in ‘negotiating’ the conditions of their stay now that you are in Canada & have something they want. If you both cannot agree on this before they come, it is unlikely that you’ll agree on this matter after they come.
And, if you cannot agree before they come, you need to decide if this is a marriage-breaker issue for you & let your husband know so that he understands the consequences of his choices on your marriage. You need to equally be prepared mentally & financially to accept the consequences of your actions—a possible divorce including the uncertainty of how your children will be affected. Don’t do anything without fully understanding and being willing to accept the consequences.
If you are being mentally (verbally) or physically abused, call IRCC and select the ‘abuse’ option. I don’t know what they offer, but they may have further options/advice.
Thank you so much for this. I got on a call with a lawyer, and he said that you only need to mention travels if you are not working or studying at all. I had a visit when I was still a student so I skipped that, but I will mention where I wasn't working and went on a travel.
No problem. I was not aware that mentioning the travels during study or work is not necessary, in fact, I mentioned them in my imm5669 when I got the ADR. But if your lawyer says that, it's your choice to include it or not.
