Does anyone know that OCI processing time starts the moment you submit to BLS or it starts from Acknowledgment of Receipt in OCI website?

I submitted on 28th July at BLS walk in. And in OCI website, it says 3rd August as Acknowledgement Date.

Should I count 6-8 weeks timeline starting from 3rd August or 28th July?

my friend got it in 4-5 weeks after acknowledgement

Where can I get a notarized affidavit for this change of place of birth?

When you made Canadian Passport you should have followed Place of Birth as it states in Indian Passport which is TUTICORON, this requires a change now in your Canadian Passport, because you lost Indian Status you can't make a change to Indian passport,

Steps you should take, apply for a new Canadian Passport with correction, submit your current passport to the authorities same time. Or else you will never be apply for OCI

Can anyone remind me again at what time does the appointments for BLS open, is it at 8PM? I need to travel in 4 weeks time and Surrey office keeps changing if visas can be processed by walk-ins or need appointments.

when is your travel date? and if you know the timeline for entry visa? i have my travel date in 1st week of October.. and applied OCI 4th Aug. not sure if i would get by then..

I am on the same boat as you.. I applied for OCI in person in BLS-Brampton. No acknowledgement as yet on OCI website. do you or anyone here know if what is average timeline for acknowledgement as yet on OCI website?

Clearly they are behind now by more than a week, genrally we should see Acknowledgements rolling within first 10-12 days from submission.

and exactly after 4 weeks of acknowledgement we will see the status change OCI dispatched from Delhi.

I feel Independence day holidays & programs both is Toronto Consulate as well as in Delhi might be the reason, people who will apply post Aug 15 will face more delays now, they will touch 2 months of processing easily

If you don't make a change on your passport it will remain as a long term issue when ever you decide to travel

Yes he can pickup passports for all of your family as he is one of the applicant. Which location of BLS is this pickup service available? I was not given this option

Hi All, Has any one had to get an notarized affidavit for difference is place of birth between Indian and Canadian passport? In Indian passport I have the City name and State in brackets, but in Canadian passport I have just the State. BLS won't accept the application without the affidavit. Not sure what/where to get that. thanks

if Indian passport has "Chennai, Tamilnadu" In place of Birth but Canadian Passport has just "Chennai" , will that be a problem?
