I submitted my parent's visit visa application last September 7, 2021. I used the new IRCC Portal. If anyone is on the same boat, let's share insights and updates.
September 7 - Application Submitted
September 10 - Biometrics done
No request for medical as of the moment. Intended to stay for less than 6 months, but hoping to travel this november 2021.
We applied via the new portal, and purpose of visit was for my wife and I to meet her sister's family as they had not met since the pandemic. Duration 3-4 weeks.
Any June applicant here? I applied in June, and received the request letter for the biometrics fee, then submitted it one hour afterward, but nothing till now.....
Hi All, I am currently on Work Permit in Canada.
I applied for temporary resident visa (visitor) for my spouse with below timelines in New IRCC portal
Application Submitted : April 11
Biometrics letter received : April 12
Biometrics completed and updated : April 19
Medical results updated as Passed : May 9 (medicals completed and submitted along with initial application on Apr 11 itself)
No further updates after this..
Anyone else having similar / closer timelines? If so, any updates received? Thanks

If you got PFL, the decision can take as long as IRCC wants. PFLs are serious and require a thorough response. Post the PFL. Did you get a PFL and a ban?
Spouse is in India.
SOWP - if this means Open work permit, we are not interested in this and i believe approval for open work permit will take much longer anyway.. (please correct me if my understanding is wrong)

So your spouse just wants to visit for up to 6 months, and has no intention of coming to Canada to work. For TRV, she is showing strong ties to return (job, property to oversee etc.). Processing for TRV averages 5 months so within timelines.
