Canadian Passport - Mail-In Application Timelines

Anyone applied in March and still waiting? My wife applied in person at service Canada 7th of March and still nothing, we are thinking to involve our local MP.

I mailed my application on March 01, credit card charges on March 28, still waiting for passport

I applied in person at service Canada office on 25th of March and still haven't received it. Called their number today and was told that it was sent for production on 29 June and it normally takes a week to 10 days for it to be courired once it goes to production. It has already been 20 days now, Lol

Same happened to me, when I called on mid June they said it’s all ready just need to print and send it to you. But on 21 June. I just received my original citizenship certificate along with a slip mentioned you will receive passport in a courier, I called again 10 days ago they said it’s in examination and can’t say when will be send to you, and the agent said I don’t know why someone told you it’s in production. It’s a mess, thank contacted my MP last week, let see

Once they scan all your documents and put in the system they charge the credit card , and then further process start .

Why will the transfer not happen?

The agent said it depends on the local visa office. He said all they do is put in a request for the local visa office to accept the transfer and that they don't automatically send it to them. He said depending on their load, the local visa office might just ignore it, reject it, or forget about it. Basically, he was saying the call center can request the transfer, but no guarantees and there is nothing I can do about it.

I would call again and speak to a different agent and double check that, they told me wife the same exact thing only to turn around and be told by a different agent that the applicating was in fact still processing and has not been sent to production. It seems to me the agents are making mistakes and not talking to each other, hence the mess we are all in now because of that

I called MP office today , they said it’s takes 2 to 3 weeks to get response from passport office .

Have you tried calling this number? 18445339201

I was able to call this number mid-day. There were 12 people ahead of me and the wait time wasn't that long. It was the only number that worked for me.
