Hey guys, just an update - I spoke to Immigration and they confirmed there is nothing of concern on my file and it's still in progress but even if we applied before they announced it would now take 2 years to process citizenship grant applications, the 2 years application time still applies to you. So she mentioned, they have till February 2023 to finish processing the application 0_0! Definitely not what I wanted to hear but now I know I may have to just go ahead and renew my PR and plan my travel that way.
I literally got the exact response which is freaking BS. Why can't they treat applications according to a damn timeline?

I completely agree. Its not fair to be honest and I was hoping that did not apply to us and its even harder when people that applied in 2021 already have their citizenship and we are still waiting. It's such an odd system that really needs to be fixed, they need to process applications on a first come, first served basis.

Absolutely agreed. You can't say something that changed in the later date affects applications already submitted. What a joke! At least, you've everything marked as complete Lol. I had no update since my test back in Nov. Just a ghost update in Feb which changed the date to 22nd Feb but nothing got updated in the account.
Hey, just checked my account. Everything got updated to completed just now! haha Finally, gives me some relief. Took them freaking 7 months after the test lol and its literally 3 more documents that they have to check!
Hey so my spouse received an invitation for oath after I sent a request for urgent processing.
She received the email however the last update on her ecas and tracker was in January.
Hi Future Immi,
Thank you for your previous reply. How long does it take from the moment you sent the request to get oath invitation? Also you used that web form for it ? Is there any template I can use or I just have to make my own words ? Make it as simple as possible or give as much detail as possible?
Thank you

Congrats finally done with IRCC!!! Took more than 2 months for passport? I guess even though you did walk in, you didnt need urgent or travel within 45 days or whatever that cut off is. Wowza. We have been invited for oath next week. Finally after 19 months since application sent in.
My friend at church, submitted theirs in January 2022, and they are already on DM! Really dont know how they drag their feet for 2019/2020 applicants, but 2021 and 2022 already getting their citizenship done. And my friend has exact same number of family members as ours (4) and they live in Brampton, which is the same office Mississauga office that processed ours. SMH

It was stressful. I didnt get any appointment near to my house! I had to go one location thats 100KM from my place. I think I am lucky that I got my passport earlier than expected. Current processing time is 12 weeks! Nah! I didnt have any plan to travel soon thats why didn't do anything extra. BUT! here's a trick! if you dont have travel plan, put a future date on your passport application 2 months from the signing date of your application.
Just be happy that you are at the end of this long tunnel! don't compare with other applicants. its better to be done sooner than later from those who are in a limbo! you dont want that. I saw ppl from 2019 are still waiting for their oath. One of my relative applied in November 2021 and their oath date is 12th july. Just be happy that yours one is done, pray for others, thats the best thing we can do.
My background has been marked complete on June 15th. Atleast there's some progress
