If the status on the OCI portal shows 'Under Process', can we still upload supporting documents? I used my mother's passport as a proof of link to India. She got a new passport this week and the passport that I used alongside my OCI application is now cancelled. Any thoughts from fellow OCI applicants? Thanks so much for your help. Cheers!

My personal thoughts on this.

If your mother's passport was valid on the date of application submission, then you do not need to upload/send any documents unless asked to.

I dont think there is need for that root persons passport to be valid.

A foreign national, who was eligible to become a citizen of India on 26.01.1950 or was a citizen of India on or at anytime after 26.01.1950 or belonged to a territory that became part of India after 15.08.1947 and his/her children and grand children, is eligible for registration as an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).

Not yet. With the long weekend, I am expecting to receive it by the end of the week.

BLS tracker still has "Processing at Consulate General"
I will update when I see any changes.

OCI is different booklet like passport and you have to carry both foreign passport and oci booklet while travelling to and fro India

No. They do not even have my Canadian passport to stamp it. It was returned to me after verification by BLS.

I am seeing a wide range of responses from 2 weeks to 2 months. It would be interesting to know if this differs by location.
