I am going to get married soon. I have a Canadian PR and currently, I am in India.
1) Should I process my Wife's Visitor Visa and once She is in Canada, put her PR file? if Yes, do we have to declare that she is married to a Canadian PR holder? does this disqualify her from coming to Canada on Visitor Visa?
Or
2) I should put her PR file first after coming to Canada and then process her visitor visa?
Which option is correct or feasible?
P.S. Do I have to come to Canada to put her file for PR or is there any Online option that is available now in COVID?
Thanks in advance.

Either option is fine. If you want your wife to be able to come to Canada sooner, then go with option #1.
You must be physically in Canada to sponsor her for PR.

Thanks for the Quick Reply.
At the time of her Visit via Visitor Visa, Does she have to mention that her husband is in Canada?
AND
if we go for Option #2, is there a chance that her Visitor visa will be denied on the basis that She has PR file in process?

Yes, she needs to mention she is married. She needs to be 100% honest in the application.
Yes, there's certainly a chance her TRV will be denied. Also a chance of approval.

Thanks a lot for your inputs.
We will go for Option 1 then, as She will be able to come to Canada on Visitor Visa. Then we will put her PR file after She is in Canada.

The Sponsor (PR holder) needs to be physically in Canada to sponsor a spouse.
I would suggest going with Option #1, I have done the same thing. And yes, your wife will need to mention she is married to a Canadian PR in the Visa application, as well as at the border entry (if asked).
In my case, the border officer asked no questions to my wife when she entered, probably because I was travelling with her or the fact that she had visited Canada several times before our marriage as well.
Thanks a lot for your inputs.

how long they process visitor visa for India?
Second your being PR in the applicaton form that you are her husband , visa office in India will know right away that you wil sponsor her. Not sure if she will receive positive for visitor visa

Same for the study permit application. She needs to demonstrate that she will return to home country after her study. It may be hard to show that with her husband in Canada.

Study visa or visitor visa, either ways she will have to declare she is married to a Canadian PR. Then why spend tens of thousands of $ in studies if its not required!
I agree that obtaining visitor visa after marriage is a tricky process, but so is a study visa. Starting from selecting universities, the process can take a year. Might as well apply for outland sponsorship which could be processed in a year. Plus there is chances of study visa rejection if the candidate profile doesn't match future plans and objective.
