I applied online for SP extension a month ago , today I got message that my application has been updated !! then I checked my CIC account nothing changed !!
Anyone know what that mean or something like that happened to you ??
That happened to me. But the last time CIC emailed me, it shows updated and nothing has changed, but then when I return to the previous page it says the application has been approved.

My friend received this message two times and nothing was updated.
The next day there was no message, but he checked his application and the status was 'approved'.

According to CIC website, it is 1 year tuition fee plus 10,000 for study permit. I can't find any exact amount for extension. Maybe for extension its just 10,000 because its 10,000 according to University of British Columbia website as well.
According to UBC website
"Minimum $10,000 CAD, plus an additional $4,000 for a spouse/partner, and/or $3,000 for each additional family member (e.g. a child). Proof may include a combination of: a current official letter from your bank showing your account balances; a letter stating a scholarship, teaching/research assistantship, or student loans; a letter of financial support from a sponsor (such as a parent or friend) AND a current official letter from their bank; etc. If you cannot prove the minimum amount you can still submit an application, but it will affect the length of your extension".
Is it okay if we show some funds in student's account (Maybe 6,000) and rest with a Affidavit of support in our sponsor's bank account?
I know it looks okay based on the information found on this and some other websites. However, many people told me that account should be on student's name.
Ive been sent the "update" email a couple of times now. Everytime I log in the screen says it's updated. When I check status and messages, there is no change.
I keep getting these on weekends and it's driving me up a tree.
