My employment letter has an outdated noc code (2006) instead of the 2011 one. I have now lost my job and can't get a new letter. Can I submit as it is, I mean with the outdated noc code? The letter has a detailed description of my duties. Please help!

No you cant submit that letter with outdated NOC code. Just attach an explanation letter with that mentions the error made by company, and correction.

Yes you can. The NOC in the letter is not material, as long as you include the correct NOC in your application and perform a majority of the duties in that NOC as outlined in the experience, you are good to go.
Thanks all for your kind replies. From what you are saying I should submit the employment letter as it is but attach an explanation letter to be safe.
