How about some speculation and guesswork here ?
On the first task of IELTS writing, I wrote the letter with about 50 words but which I think covered all requirements of the question.
My second essay task easily exceeded 250 words and it was fairly nuanced and comprehensive about the given topic.
What are my chances of getting the MINIMUM score of 6.0?
I received my IELTS score today and in writing got a better than expected 6.5.
So I draw two conclusions:
1. It confirms what is mentioned in the practice book: task 2 is weighed higher than task 1.
2. Based on my score, I estimate that the task 2:task 1 score ratios are 6:3 (at least as graded in Chennai, India).
Today i also got my second IELTS score sheet and they (British Council) have been proved that they are doing easy earning business by IELTS.
First Test Score(General Training)--- L 7.5, R 5.5, W 7, S-7 not qualified for new rule.
Second Test Score (General Training)--- L7, R 6.5, W 5.5, S-7 not qualified for new rule.
They are doing.............big business and asking INR 5500 for rechecking and refundble if score goes high and anybody can imagine they never do that.
