Writ of Mandamus

To date, still waiting for the Final Decision. Local MP also involved following up our app but cannot do anything about when it comes fo security as there is no time frame for that as per ircc.
Any advice whether or not too seek for a Writ of Mandamus? How much is the cost in Ontario? Thanks.

Is there anything non standard about your application? For example, have you recieved ADR for additional documentation or even a PFL? Was your medical straight forward? Any complications with dependents or a spouse added or removed?

At this point mandamus might have a chance of working if your application has been completely standard. Otherwise, in my opinion, it's way too early.

Mandamus also cannot speed up or skip security. Security needs to happen. If your application is going through security, then mandamus is going to be a waste of money in my opinion.

I am the spouse and dependent. Received ADR and then PFL last Feb. The PA passed and completed everything on March 2024. Based on the gcms notes my background chek is under comprehensive check and in progress by cbsa and csis. Still now no updates.

You are free to file for mandamus whenever you want. That is really your choice. I can't tell you of mandamus will be successful.

May i ask you what was the criminal charge for in your case? Is your criminality passed?

Related to driving but was withdrawn and got a lesser charge under Highway Traffic Act in 2022 here in Canada. We applied for PR under CEC after the case. Criminality passed last year. How about you?

Im wondering. My criminality is passed. I had a stunt driving ticket that got withdrawn after fighting the case and i just had to pay fine. Do you think i have cleared that hurdle. For me only security not started rest everything is passed. I know that stunt driving is not a criminal offence though but still wanna clarify.
Did you also get stunt driving ticket.

I got ADR and PFL about my HTA charge. I also answered "yes" to the statutory question regarding charge in/ourside Canada. This is the only reason i know why i am under "comprehensive check". So if your charge is under HTA only and not criminal, then you may not be subject for "comprehensive check". Please keep me posted about this. Thanks
