Would I be eligible - different field of degree and experience

Hi,

My degree is on electronics and telecommunication engineering. But I have been working as a software engineer for six years.
Is My experience counted since the two fields are different ? I have done some IT subjects for my degree

i have the same degree as yours and i never worked in my field except for 1 year. my field o exprerience in the last 10 years was all in admin. & public relations.
i have applied in august 2006 and my file is under processing.
