Filling out IMM 5708 to change my status from temporary worker to visitor while I file for my outland PR (from the US). Since I can't work while waiting (moving to BC from AB, don't have an LMO for a job yet), my wife will be supporting me. The problem is, she is a server/bartender, so her paychecks aren't very big. And she doesn't put a lot of money in the bank (cash rules everything around me!). This concerns me, as the application requires proof of financial support. I have my pay stubs from the last year, and my bank statements (which don't show a lot of money saved up, either). We have her 2011 income tax return, which shows what I would consider to be an acceptable amount of income (according to what I assume they're looking for).
Do you think they'll accept a 2011 income tax return as proof of financial support? We haven't finished filing our 2012's yet.
