working under implied status

My work permit just got expired but i had applied for my post grad work permit before that, so im on implied status right now. Can a new employer hire me? I have read the article in CIC about implied status but it doesnt say anything about getting a new job, it just says that you can continue working.
Most probably I will get a job offer next week but im really concerned if the employer will say no when he finds out my work permit has expired

I did some digging and I found out that I can legally work for a new employer on implied status. But it really concerns me if the employer will accept me. Anybody had similar experiences?
