My lawyer submitted my pr application on Dec 15, 2016 and I linked it to my account. My working permit expired in Jan 17, 2017. Today i got notification from CIC that they started to review my application. But I'm still waiting for my new working permit. Would I get my whole package back and have to line up again? :'( any suggestions? Thanks

I think you're confusing yourself. PR application and work permit application are two different things. Unless you missed something like a signature on one of the forms or forgot to include documents like IELTS then yes your application will be sent back to you and you have to restart again.
For work permit, as long you applied it before expiration you'll get implied status meaning you can continue working until you get you a decision.
So do you mean PR application has nothing to do with my working permit ;D I'm just worried that they saw my working permit expired already, and sent back to me said I'm not eligible to apply for PR becasue of my working permit.
