i'm going to be studying at the University of Toronto this coming academic year as a temporary exchange student, and from my initial search it seems that I would be restricted to working on campus. I really want to get a job when I arrive, as I dont like the idea of just coasting on my student loan, but I was wondering if there's another kind of permit or something to apply for which would get me round this roadblock. An employer-specific permit would help, but they're $230 which the business would have to pay, so my chances of getting hired are next to non-existent with one of these.
Any suggestions welcome and appreciated
