I am currently pursuing a post graduate one year program ending in April 2015. My study permit expires in December 2015. I want to do another one year program. However, this program just has a September intake. Considering there is a four months difference from the end of my current program until I can start of my new program, I am planning to utilize these 4 months by working full time.
Being on study permit is it legal to work full time in these 4 months?
thats incorrect OP will not be enrolled and technically not a full time student during the 4 months between two program. OP cannot work legally during these 4 months between two programs.
more over OP runs the risk of study permit being cancelled as he wont be registered in any program during those 4 months.

I agree.. Officially you are not allowed as this is not so called break during studies, you finished your program. It is like if you got two years on your study permit, but graduate withing 12-16 months you can't work for rest of 12 or 8 months.. CIC allocates a buffer just in case you take some time extra to finish your studies,it does not mean you can work full time.
