Hi all,
I am a US citizen working for a US company. I may be moving to Canada eventually (and filing for PR), and my US employer would like to keep me as a remote employee.
However, while I wait for my open work permit as a PR, I do not have a work visa. Because I am working for a US company, being paid US funds into a US account etc. and am not taking away potential work from the Canadian market, does that mean that a work visa is not necessary in my case?
Cheers!

Yes - you can work from Canada without a work permit provided the company has no Canadian customers / clients.
Note that this doesn't let you 'move' to Canada or 'live' in Canada. Until you are a PR, all you are allowed to do is visit temporarily. If you try to move to Canada as a visitor, you may run into significant issues at the border.

Thank you! I actually have an immigration lawyer handling that part for me, so mostly I'm just trying to figure out how my employment/taxes will work.

Should add no Canadian offices as well.
