I am currently working in US on L1B visa which will expire this December. Is there any way I could apply for job in Canada before December?
Will my employer file for Canadian visa in this case?
What type of visa will it be?
To work in Canada, you will first have to find an employer in Canada who is willing to hire you.
That employer will then have to obtain an approved Labour Market Opinion. As part of this procss, the employer will have to advertise the job and prove the couldn't find a Canadian to hire for the role.
If the Labour Market Opinion is approved, you (not your employer) will then have to apply for a closed work permit.
So the first step is to find an employer in Canada.
