I have a quick question, My work permit is going to expire on AUG 15th, However I want to apply for visitor visa to obtain legal status here in canada.
will that be possible?
My plan is to apply for PR in express entry asap as my current CRS is 447 and I am still writing my IELTS to get a desired score to reach 460 and above. at least to prepare and write IELTS I want to be in Canada as a visitor without leaving country.
Is is possible? what do you guys suggest? I want to be legal and process should go smooth.

I read some forums and there are few people have applied for visitor visa extension instead of new visitor visa as they already have a TRV based on PGWP since it is considered as a visitor visa they applied for visitor extension, Do I need to apply for a new visitor visa or visitor extension?

A visitor visa is simply a stamp in your passport allowing you to board a commercial carrier to travel to Canada. You need to apply for a visitor extension.
Hi Guys, @canuck_in_uk@scylla
Sorry to bother you again. I have a question in application filling as when I filled the summary questions I got the checklist for visitor extension in that for optional documents sections I have
1. Schedule 1 - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside Canada (IMM 5257)
2. Client Information
You only have to fill those if the other forms tell you to (there are certain fields that say you need to fill the optional forms depending on what answer you give in the main form).
