Work permit timeline???

Hi guys!

Just want to ask, how many months does it usually take for a work permit to be processed? Will I undergo medical exam? My employer processed it last January but until now, still waiting for it. I'm a visitor here, almost 6 months staying here now. My employer processed my papers. Received my LMIA after 3 months and processed my work permit.
