I received a Work Permit Support Letter after I applied for my BC PNP nomination but I haven't applied for PR yet. I am applying for a work permit at the moment. My question is whether I need an employer to sponsor me to apply for the work permit? Because I have an offer of employment but only if I have an open work permit as the employer is not willing to sponsor me for a work permit.
In addition, on the application it says that I need an "offer of employment (lmia exempt) number" which I can only get if my future employer offers the job through the portal and pays the fee. But does doing that mean that they are sponsoring me and I won't be receiving an open work permit?
