Work Permit Starting with College

Hello Everyone,

Im going to finish my ESL programme end of the March and I`ll start college first week of April.(I`ll be alligible for part time works) After ESL programme should I have to apply for work permit ? Is procedure take couple of months or can I take it easily with enrollment letter from college ? PS: ESL and college is same school. I already got acceptence from college.

So are you in Canada now on an approved, study permit? Your study permit will tell you if you are allowed to work at all. You don’t apply for a work permit.

Yes I’m in Canada on an approved study permit. My study permit tells only “work on campus” is eligible during ESL program. That’s all. But I’m going start college then I’ll be okay for part time works.

If your study permit says you can only work on campus than you can only work on campus. You need to apply to change the conditions of your study permit if you want to work off campus. Just starting your college program doesn’t allow you to work off campus and change your permit.
