work permit renewal due to passport expiry

Hi there,

I came to Canada as student and finished my masters here and applied for post graduate work permit. I got the work permit for two years as my passport is valid till that time only. Currently I have applied for passport renewal and it is still under process. I have around 10 more days before my passport and work permit expires.

My question are; if I don’t get my passport back in time can I apply for the work permit before getting the renewed passport and submit the passport details after renewal?

And second question is during my work permit is under renewal process can I continue working in Canada??
