I need some advise, does anyone know if it is required to give a copy of new work permit to my old employer? I found a new job and told my current employer about my resignation and she asked me to give her a copy of LMO and work permit for a government audit purpose. Is this necessary knowing that I'm about to resign.
No, you're not. A letter of resignation is sufficient.

I think it is moot and academic that your current employer that you are about to resign has nothing to do with any work permit be it old or new. for as long as you do the proper time frame resignation, be cleared of any liability, responsibility under you and the turnover needed; at your end you do your part justly. government purposes? funny! before you are given new work permit; the government already study your case if to be issued or granted another new work permit or not. it will be a different scenario if along the way you committed violations that the government believe you should be slapped work permit withdrawal and worse subject for removal and deportation...my piece of interpretation.
