Work permit from border

I have an enquiry, I am a permanent resident here in Canada and had applied for my wife’s spousal application which is under process (have AOR). She is coming to Canada next month on a visitor visa , so I was wondering if she can get work permit until she waits for her PR? If yes, can she obtain it from the border so she doesn’t have to wait?

I would not recommend requesting for a work permit at the border, she may be denied entry. She’s coming in on a visitor visa which restricts her from undertaking any gainful employment in Canada during her visit. It would be wise to apply when she’s here. Only those from visa exempt countries can apply at the port of entry.

Hi ,

I have canada visitor visa and currently in india , i also have applied my WP visa from india which is in progress now . I plan to travel in visitor visa shortly , So Can i submit my passport in canada directly once i get Passport request letter from IRCC ? Please clarify. Appreciate your response .
