Hi,
I am in Canada on TRV while my outland spousal sponsor is in process. Does open work permit available for outland applicant too? Just curious to know whether anyone from here got it?

No - not available. Only available to those who apply inland.
I have applied for Outland Spousal PR application.
I understand that Open work permit is not allowed from outside of Canada.
But can I go to Canada on Tourist Visa and then apply for Open work permit from within Canada which can be linked to Outland spousal PR application?

I think you can...because no where in IRCC website stating you cannot apply...

No - you can't. The information on the IRCC web site is very specific. You only qualify for an open work permit with an inland application. Outland applicants do not qualify, even if they come to Canada.

IRCC web site:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...ces/open-work-permit-pilot-extended-2020.html
The open work permits are limited to applicants living in Canada who have submitted an application under the spouse or common-law partner in Canada class, and who have temporary resident status or are eligible to restore their temporary resident status (as a visitor, student or worker) and live at the same address as their sponsor.

Scylla, It is very clear in that link, applicants living in Canada along with sponsor can apply for OWP....It is not mentioned anywhere whether it is Outland or Inland applications. I think as long you are in Canada on a temporary resident status living with sponsor you can apply for OWP. Please correct me with more clarity if i am wrong??

Yes - it is mentioned. See what I've quoted above. The part I have underlined refers very specifically to inland applications.
You are wrong in thinking you qualify.

No, immigration uses "spouse or common-law in canada class" to refer to inland applications, not applications when you apply as outland but live in canada.
Thank you all for the feedback...great help...
