Work permit extension while waiting for lmia

Hi -May I know how long will it takes for the lmia process after the 30 days advertisement? My work permit will expire on February 25, 2019. My employer is not yet applying for the new LMIA. He can only apply after the 30 days of the mandatory advertisement of the job. They said I can submit my application while the lmia is on process, but need to call the cic with the new lmia number within 2 months.

It really varies. Some take less that two months but many take around four.
