work permit extension approved til passport's expiration

need advice from seniors.
i have applied for a work permit extension but cic only gave me 1 year extension starting this february ( i have overlooked the fact that my passport will expire next year-february 2017) This is a year short of my 4 year maximum duration in canada. can i still apply for another work permit extension so as to make it two years? my lmia is valid til july 2016. also, i have already renewed my passport and i believe it is for 5 years.

Yes, I read it somewhere that this is possible. Just take whatever documents you applied with, write a cover letter stating your passport expiry and you're good to do. I've read stories on here of people doing the same thing and getting the extension.

hello when did you send your wp ext? coz i sent mine last feb 19, 2016. Im still waiting.

Yes i guess you can still apply for ext but its a waste of money. When are you planning to get your owp and pr? Coz if your about to end your contract to your employer you can send pr and owp
