im on maternity leave and should be until september 2013 but apparently my work permit will expire on april 19, 2013 as well as the ei benefits. i already applied for PR and just waiting for my landing papers. can i renew my work permit so i can continue my maternity leave and benefits? my employer said its technically no, as the work permit is for working. he said i should apply for visitors permit since im not working. he also mentioned that if i go home i will still receive ei benefits. i doubt that!
