work permit, british, help!

hi, could someone please help me. i am british and applied online on the 11june for a temporary work permit. it has now been 6 weeks and i still haven't heard anything.? since i applied online there is no helpline to call and my employer keeps emailing me wanting an update. also it says on the website there is a strike on, do you think this will have a massive impact on my application? im really worried i wont get the visa. x also they have not been in touch for a medical or police check is that normal?

So many people in the same boat just hang in there! I think they are ridiculously busy and most people are hearing back in 8 - 12 weeks now...

I'm pretty sure that you do not need medicals if you have lived in the UK for a year before your application...re police checks, I don't know...from speaking to a couple of people of this forum, it appears that we don't submit one unless asked to do so...

hey, yeah i got it thanks but im in spain right now as my parents live out here most of the time when did u apply for yours?

On 26th June...so it has been a while. But I don't think I will hear back until at least 8 weeks...they are busy and also we have to factor in the strikes etc.
