I have a question regarding the open work permit application that you can send in with the sponsorship application.
I have applied for a visitor record at the beginning of february which has not been processed yet and was over 30 days before my IEC work permit expired. Last week me and my common law partner sent in sponsorship application including the owp applicatio n, where I provided proof that I have applied for the visitor record etc and have implied status on that.
So I've seen someone saying online that you cant apply for the work permit unless the visitor record is approved, and they would not process it.
Is that true?
I was under the impression that the implied status from the visitor record would be enough, since it is still legal status, and now I'm kinda worried about not getting an owp.
