Work hours in contract

Hi ..Im working more than 8 hrs as a live in caregiver..the brother of my employer gave me schedule of my work hours from wednesday to friday I work 6hrs I start 4 pm to 10 pm but Saturday and Sunday my schedule is 12 hrs I start 8 am to 2pm then 4 - 10 pm so total of 42hrs for a week..but in my contract its written there only 40 hrs..when I ask the brother about my weekend schedule and my hours of work coz they only pay me 40 hrs he told me Im not even busy on that hours..busy or not are they supposed to pay me on excess hours...and I alwys done working at 12:45 am when the psw arrive coz my employer had parkinson even im not busy doing chores Im still working looking after him..

If you are working those hours, you should get paid overtime.

Bhernzie, look for Immigrant Services in the town where you live. Usually, they could help people with such kind of problems.
However, often in situation like yours it means to change an employer.
