Hey guys,

I am working towards 2 years experience in Canada - I work 40hrs/week so 1560*2=3120 hrs will be completed before 2 years.
I understand that no matter how many hours I worked, it has to be 2 years in order to update my profile.
Here's my situation:
I started working in March 2014 (was on co-op visa), then I got PGWP in Dec 3, 2015. So my experience counts from Dec 2015. I left my job in Sep 2016 and started new job in Dec 2016.
So right now I have 10 months (Dec 2015-Sep 2016) plus 2 months (Dec 2016-Feb 2017). Assuming that I keep working from now on, can I update my profile as 2 years experience in Dec 2017 (because I got PGWP in Dec 2015)? There was a 2-3 months break, but I still completed required hours.

Best,
Jin

If your start date is Dec 3, 2015, then this is not 10 complete months - your end date would have to be Oct 2 , 2016 to count that as 10 full months.

You do not do yourself any favors by overestimating your work experience. You'll wait months while your application is being processed, only to be refused.

The best approach is to count the number of weeks of full-time work. Since full-time is defined as "30 or more hours per week," then the week is the temporal denominator. You need 52 weeks for one year, 104 weeks for 2 years.

You can say anything you want, but when the facts are not supported, your application will be refused. If you do not have 104 weeks of full-time employment, you will lose the points for the 2nd year of employment; your CRS score will be re-assessed, and if you then fall below the threshold for your draw, you will be refused.

"Required hours" applies to part-time workers only. You work full-time, therefore hours are not relevant, you need to count the number of weeks of employment.
