I have a condition that I cannot work in health care, in primary or secondary education, et cetera. This condition is placed if you didn't have a medical exam when your permit(s) were issued - unfortunately, when doing my initial application, I just saw "medical exam not required" and didn't investigate further, not realising I would be restricted until I actually got the permit and read the condition.
Anyway! I've gotten the medical done already, and I have a copy of form IMM 5709 - I just don't know how to get to the right sort of application online (after signing in with gckey) in order to actually upload that form and get the remaining checklist of documents. The interface doesn't really have anything that says it's for changing conditions (or extending) on a permit.
I've been going back and forth with IRCC in DMs on Twitter but can't get a straight answer on what to actually click in the portal to get the right sort of online application, or if I'm meant to use some other system entirely.
So, how did you submit that? By email, by regular mail, or through the gckey portal? I've already figured out I need the form, but I'm not sure which application to upload it to.
This is what I was assuming, and that was also the page that IRCC linked me to. It's also from this that I obtained forms IMM 5709 / 5710. The problem, however, comes at Step 5; after signing in, there is no obvious option for changing the conditions. I don't actually see anywhere I could upload the form to.
After logging in, there is a section for "Start an application", which has the options "Apply to come to canada", "Refugees: Apply for temporary health care benefits", "Citizenship: Apply for a search or proof of citizenship" and "Students; Transfer schools". None of these seem to be relevant to changing conditions.
I can also view my approved application, but there are no options for changing conditions here either (that I can see).
So I'm able to log in, and I've managed to find the forms, but I don't know where they're actually supposed to be submitted on the online portal. I might be missing something extremely obvious, but I really just need to know what I'm supposed to click after logging in through GCKey that will allow me to request a change in conditions.
Finally figured it out - I wasn't getting options that made sense doing the questionnaire inside the application system itself (that you log into with GCKey); instead I had to use the one on the immigration website which gave me options that made sense and allowed me to open up an application to change conditions. As a co-op student, I had to choose "study" rather than "work" for the initial choice, and then later that gave me the option to say I had a work permit as part of my studies.
