I started with a consulting company as a trainee. The trainee is a salaried (12.5 $/hr), full-time position. After a three-month training period, I was placed as an IT consultant in a bank.
The training is a pure learning period - learning skills, writing tests, obtaining certificates and going for interviews. I do not know if I can use my trainee experience for my CEC application.
IT consultant is a skilled position. the trainee is called IT consultant trainee. As I mentioned, trainee is a learning position, no real work at all. but from what I think, the trainee period for a skilled position should be counted.
