Will time spent under a work permit count again after Bill C-6

It used to be that time spent in Canada working before obtaining Permanent Residency also counted towards the requirement for Citizenship (I believe each day as a worker counted as half a day towards the minimum days goal). Under those conditions I would have been eligible in January 2016, now with the new laws I'm only eligible in January 2018.... A 2 years punishment out of nowhere.

Would this also go back to how it was when C-6 is live?



PS: I've been in Canada since 2008(student->worker->PR) and I'm still not a citizen

Only if it falls within the relevant period (5 years as per the new unapproved law). So, assuming (for simplicity) the law receives royal assent and is applied starting 1/1/2017 and you apply on 1/1/2017, you'll need to go back 5 years and do the math.
