I just realized that I overstayed my visa back in 2010 for a month before I left the USA for Canada. When I left the US, I was not informed that I overstayed the visa.

Will this affect my application for Canadian Permanent Residence?

Provided you declare the overstay, it will not have an effect on your PR app.
