Will my pregnant wife be covered under Alberta Health Services?

I am planning to move to Calgary as International Student in order to obtain a Canadian Certificate after one year, and my wife will accompany me. By the time we land in Calgary she will be 4-5 months pregnant, then; will she has full assistance in the medical center during all the pregnancy period? I want to be sure about that, because she is currently covered under private health insurance in our country, but if we move to Canada she will not be covered anymore, and having 4-5 months pregnancy there is no insurance willing to cover her.

Don't believe your wife is covered. You may only be covered if you stay in Alberta for a full 12 months.

Yes I'm actually planning to stay more than 12 months. I understand I will be covered as student, but about her, will apply the same coverage?

No I don't believe so but you should doublecheck. She would be a visitor.
