Hello everyone..
I have just completed my studies in december 2019
I came canada in january 2017 for mechanical engineering in sheridan college but after two semesters I changes my college and get admission in cambrian college and started studying there from january 2018.
Then I took an unofficial break from january to april 2019.
Now I have to apply for pgwp in january 2020 what do you think are my chances of getting approved for work permit
Minimum chance of approval.

On what grounds do you think It can be refused

You took an unofficial break. That is generally a disqualifier for a PGWP.
But I have never seen anyone get a refusal due to unofficial break

Happens all of the time. Unofficial break = part-time = no PGWP.
you must maintain continuous full-time enrolment to qualify. you took a break, therefore it is not considered continuous
Did you get your pgwp? Please let me know I also took an unofficial break
Yes.. I did get my work permit without any problem.
I dont think taking break should be a problem unless you work on SIN during that period

Did you take a break and start a second course? If so that wouldn't be an unofficial break.
Thanks for your response. Really means a lot.

That's why it wasn't an issue. Unofficial break would be in the middle of a program.

Hi there,
I'm glad to hear you were approved for the pgwp. I have a few questions since I also took an unofficial break last year.
1) Did you explain to IRCC why you took the break and if so, what were your reasons?
2) Was your unofficial break in the middle of your program?
