Will child be Canadian if born to naturalized Canadian outside Canada?

I read a news article not too long ago which contradicted some of what I've read on this site (wish I had the link still) so I am very confused. I hope someone may be able to clear this up for me.

The facts:- I am a British female. I am married to a Canadian man who was born in Egypt but moved to Canada at a young age and became a naturalized Canadian at around the age of 5. He is now 40 years old. I understand he is considered a '1st generation' Canadian?

My question is:- If I give birth to our child in the United Arab Emirates (where we currently live), will that child automatically be eligible for Canadian citizenship? I believe the answer is yes? Is there anyone official I should speak with in order to establish an official answer to my question? I've tried contacting the Canadian Embassy in my city with no luck.

Yes, the child with be a Canadian citizen at birth. However, if/when the child has a child of his/her own, that child (your grandchild), if also born abroad, will not inherit Canadian citizenship.
