Hi! Can somebody share their insights on this:
If after being granted a US Green Card or permanent resident visa, will this affect the approval of my Canadian citizenship application which is still pending?
Thanks.

I am assuming you qualify under the pre-C-24 Act, in which case, nothing in the Act prevents you from seeking residence elsewhere. Having said that, law and practice are two different things, so it's hard to say what the impact may be.
There will be a coming effective agreement for canada USA border information for permanent residents of both countries for sharing information and more accuracy for entries exits information
I'd say pre C-24, it can cause issues and delays but ultimately you would probably be successful.
post C-24... well no one knows since it has yet to be enforced but I'd say it will make things much more difficult.
CIC has not been transparent with regards to this issue even before Act C-24.
If you painstakingly go over past threads here you'll come across comments on delays towards decision where the applicant has been found to have residence status or work visas outside Canada even though the residency requirement has been duly met. Technically, you haven't done wrong but my hunch is that a case like yours will be placed under low priority and decision could take longer. Worse, is that they may demand additional documentary evidences of your residence (even if you think you have been thorough with your supporting docs and all your passport stamps are in order). Just be aware that you can't phone the CIC Call Centre to inquire about your application from outside Canada. You can also potentially miss letters of invitation to take test, interview or oath if your mailing address is in Canada. CiC doesn't take it lightly when you miss an invitation.
