Wife and I have PR. Son (6 m.o.) is a US citizen. What happens when we move to Canada. Can my son continue to be a US citizen?

Wife and I did our landing in Feb of 2020 but did not move because of the pandemic and work arrangements. We currently live & work in Michigan. In 2021 we welcomed our newborn. Since being born in US, he is a citizen. My wife and I are non-Americans working in the US on a visa.
Questions:
When we move to Canada, will I have to file an amendment for him to be added to our PR?
Can he continue to stay with us in Canada on a US citizenship?

1. You do not file an amendment. You will need to submit a full application package to sponsor him for PR. You will only be able to do this after you have moved to Canada.
2. Yes. You will need to make sure you apply for extensions to his visit to keep his status in Canada legal until the PR application is approved.
1) Just want to understand if we can start the infant’s PR process while we are still in the US? Or can it be started only after we move to Canada?
2) Without a PR, how do we take our US born infant daughter to Canada? Is a US passport good enough for her to enter? Or does she need a Canadian visa to enter? Read somewhere on this forum that we need to exit Canada every 6 months to renew her Canadian legal status. This sounds a bit ridiculous and incorrect. Is this true? Or can we just have her extend her legal status every 6 months while we’re in Canada itself? We don’t want to exit Canada every now and then to extend my kid’s legal status especially during the pandemic time.

1) You have to wait until you have moved to Canada before you can submit the PR application to sponsor your child.
2) She can enter based on her US passport. US passport holders can travel visa free. No, she does not need to exit Canada every six months. However you will need to apply to extend her status in Canada every six months until she has PR (you can do this without leaving).
