Hello,

I hope you all are good.
I submitted a simplified application (just the application, the passport copy and the processing fees) to Canada Embassy in Cairo Egypt 27 Dec. 2007 and still hoping they remember me.

* My papers sent and received to Canada Embassy in Cairo, Egypt 27 Dec. 2007.

* 12 Oct. 2008 Received an e-mail from the Canadian office asking me if i am still interested in Immigrating to Canada. They indicated that if they didn't receive any reply within 30 days they will know i am still interested. I didn't send anything to them as i am still interested.

Let's share our timeline and our stories about this and any solutions to this long processing time.

All of you participated during 2007 are invited.

Cheers,
Ahmed

I also applied in sept. 2007 and submitted documents as requested in April 2009. I have heard nothing since. Just praying that i will receive my medical soon.

Hello Powpow-411 and thank you for sharing your timeline.

I know your feeling. Till now they didn't ask me to submit my documents.

Which visa office you submitted your docs. to? and what are the documents they ask you to submit.

I had applied in Feb 2007, 22nd Feb to be precise (gaah, the rules changed for applications just 5 days later :( ).

Had received the AOR in a month's time. Its 36 months and no update yet. Well, I have another application in queue under new rules and hoping for that one to go through.

36 months is a very long time.

Sometimes I feel that they are punishing us for applying under the old system.

I didn't know that we can apply also under the new system while having an open file.

I will thingk about it.

Dear Mr. Ahmed,

I invite u to join the wonderful forum egyptiantalks dot org

U will find a lot of same time line applicants

see u there :)

Ahmed, there is no limitation mentioned on the number of simultaneous applications that you can have.

Thank you shareit. I am just worried if i submit a new file and if they found that i am not under the job list (the new system) this may complicat my current file.

The processing of both the files will be independent of each other. Plus, if your profession does not fall under any of the 38 NOCs, there is no point considering a parallel application.

All the best with the older file :)

A programmer and a Web developer does not fall under any of the 38 NOCs. The closest one is 0213 which is IT/Software Manager.

I see. Anyway this is also my current Job. I am the IT Manager for around three years now.

I will prepare an application and send it soon.

Thank you for your help.

Wish me luck

Just a note that all people submitted their immigration applications during 2007 are invited to share their timeline with us.
