Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Dear All,
i have seen some post here which shows some nagetive side of Canada also(means difficult to find job, no demand for international degree, etc..)
i need some help from our board member and forum member also.
i am Indian mechanical engineer. i am eligible for both Canada and Australia immigration.
i know it is personal choice but i need all members suggestion.
i heard there is no value for int. degree. we have to study from Canadian uni. for getting good job. but in Australia there is value of int. degree.
i just want to know which country is better for mechanical engineer?

thanks. ???

Hi,

There is a value of international degree in Australia but still you need australian experience to get a job which is similar to canada where you have to get some qualification before you get a job. About 3 yrs ago it was very easy to get a casual job in Australia but now getting a casual job is as hard as getting a professional job. But its not that cold in australia as compare to canada and then secondly it depends how long you want to wait to move and start a life in a new country as australian immigration take some where 3 yrs to get your application done whereas as for canada you have to wait for maximum of 1yr.

Choice is yours.

Cheers

saki,
thanks for your advice....but i heard unemployment rate is very high in Canada...even casual job is very difficult to find...and as i know our degree value is zero in Canada....but in Australia we can get our field job on our degree.is it correct?
what is average temp in Canada....in Edmonton or Toronto?

Your degree will have some value after getting some experience in australian market. The australian employers look more for experience rather than qualification and once you have gain local experience your degree will help you in getting promotion and stuff but it also depend which university you have got your degree and how good was the grade. I am not sure about the average temperature for Edmonton / Toronto but they are colder than australia in winter and less hoter in summer. If you have time then i will say Australia as it has some other benefits as well like when you come here after getting your PR you will be able to claim centrelink payment until you get a good job unlikely canada where you have to live on your on funds until you get some job.

Cheers

I dont know much about the demand for mechanical engg. as i am not from that field and there is a thread on this forum which compares australia vs canada that will give you more information on both countries advantages and disadvantages.

australia is beautiful country to live in. it will be much easier if we have good networks so not much to struggle for job. income is good as well. however my experience is not to be picky for job in beginnin, getting some casual work will help a lot. but i perfer canada. it depends on personl choice

I have applied immigration both in AUSTRALIA and CANADA ... first of all when we come to IMMIGRATION process and duration then lets discuss it ..........

Immigration Process and Duration
Australian immigration procedure is v lengthy and time consuming ....... and it is expensive too ...... now a days there are a lot of changes going on in australian immigration selection criteria and they have introduces new SKILL OCCUPATIONS LIST .... deponding upon ur occupation and visa category VISA application will take upto 3 years until FINAL decision ... my advise is go for CANADA .... as it is easy and u will get response in 1 or max 1 and half year .....

Well both countries are developed...you will find the same problems in both countries..you will find it hard to find work initially..but once you do wether it is Canada or Aussie it will be a good life.... Aussie is a bit behind in technology and development..but a newer country... the main cities are still in development...most asians prefer aussie over canada mainly because it is a simmillar surrounding...feels more like home..and yes...more warmer... at the end of the day..it is not the country it is how you make out and what you do that will define your future...
