Hi,
can somebody help me!
I am confused which documents I have to send in? if I would apply for common law partner sponsorship - he is Canadian citizen, I am from Germany!

I found this:
is this the online page of CIC or do I have to fill out more?

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900ETOC.asp

or also this:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

THANKS!
would be great to get a list :) or something!

Wie geht's Julia... :)

Outland forms are the same for married or common law partners. Some forms ask what your relationship status is, so you just need to choose "common law". And you will be required to provide proofs of your common law relationship as well.....the instructions explain everything :)

And just to clarify, all the forms that you and your partner will have to fill out are all here and only here:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/fc.asp

The other thing that you mentioned, which is this:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3900ETOC.asp

is the sponsor's GUIDE.....so if your partner had any doubts about any of the forms and how to fill them out, that's the webpage he would have to refer to.

On the other hand, YOUR guide is this:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/guides/3999Etoc.asp

To clarify even further, what you guys should do is as follows:

1. Get your partner to fill our his sponsorship forms and prepare his supporting documents

2. Fill out your immigration forms and prepare your supporting documents, and don't forget to include the checklist for German applicants: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/3901e.pdf

Important note: since you're applying outland, make sure in IMM 0008 (page 1 of 5), question 4 "Immigration office requested for processing this application", you put Vienna (which is the office responsible for processing German applications)

3. Make sure to provide plenty of relationship proofs

4. Combine everything above in an organised fashion, and send the package to Mississauga, ON as instructed here

viel Glück ^^

Dankeschoen! :-)
:D

one question but maybe not the last ;)
Where would they do the interview in Germany or in Canada?
(apply outside Canada)

thanks!

If an interview is required it will be in Germany.

Wouldn't it be in Vienna (Austria)?

I believe if there is any Canadian CIC office or embassy in Germany (even if not dedicated to PR processing) they can hold the interview there, and the VO from Vienna could travel there to do interview.

This is more true for a place like Manila. They can't expect people to do international travel to attend an interview, so they can schedule interviews in the applicants home countries.

Not totally sure for Europe processing since it's not too difficult to travel between countries there. Best to ask this question in Vienna thread.
