Hi
I am waiting for visa to be stamped on mine and my family passport.
I plan to land by March middle.
I don't have any relatives there. I would like info on reasonable price motel or hostel in Toronto. As iam alone till my family comes there I would like to rent a place for 3 bedroom in Markham pet friendly. And also get a car.
What I want to know where can I stay in a reasonable place for 20 days and also safe place.
Thanks
But is it compulsory to get a job before u can get a house to rent. As to get a job is not easy. I am planning to pay the owner of the house 6months advance rent in the mean time I can get a job.
It is not must, but your chances to get any rent without good credit history and a job are slim. That just how it is. Paying in advance is not legal. Also some do not hesitate to ask for it. At best you might end in a basement. Problem is that there is lot of competition for any better place over there. good luck

thanks for the info. will get my credit history from where i work here. secondly i can show my bank statement because i dont believe job will be available when i land. so lets see.
thanks for info
Credit history - a bit depends on the property owner. Private owner will go only after canadian credit history. Bigger companies might be able to check it also from USA or Europe.
Bank statements - private owner wants to see job on the top. Renting companies want to se somebody who will do you guarantor (somebody good off living in canada or your company you work for).
Be ready for that.

With a number of rent control laws recently being introduced, private landlords are being more selective in giving homes for rent. Your best bet would be to find a decent AirBnB for a month or two while you find a job. And then try and find a condo or apartment for rent. Also, finding rentals in Toronto area is a challenging task at the moment, but hopefully things might improve by the time you come.
Regarding a car, it would be unlikely that you would get a new car on lease of finance so soon. You may need to build your credit first for 6 months to a year before trying to get a car. In the meantime, you could buy a second hand car if you can't wait.
